John (JD) Davis
Retired El Paso, TX Firefighter
John (JD) Davis, retired from the City of El Paso Texas as a Fire Captain after a 28-year career. During his tenure in El Paso, he served on the Local # 51 IAFF executive board as well as a 12-year trustee position on the El Paso Firemen and Policemen’s Pension fund. JD also served as an elected member of the Texas Public Employees Retirement System ( TEXPERS ) board of directors for 6 yrs. At TEXPERS JD helped pass a pension protection guarantee bill through the Texas State legislature.
After retiring from the fire service in 2006, JD joined the real estate investment firm of AEW Capital Management and worked in the Public Fund space for AEW in client relations and sales for 9 years when he was recruited to work for a private real estate firm, Carmel Partners where he participated in raising over one billion dollars in investment capital.
JD currently is the Director of Western Markets employed with PTG a pension software administration provider.

Retired CalPERS and Los Angeles Police & Fire Trustee
Dr. Lou Moret brings over 40 years experience in politics, administration and finance and is a highly respected leader in the public fund retirement community. Lou served on the $300B CalPERS Board of Administration, and has successfully completed the Directors Education and Certification Program at U.C.L.A. Prior to joining CalPERS, he was the longest serving appointed member in the history of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension Board, where he gained a wealth of knowledge in the areas of finance and investment.
Most recently, our Founder Tom Straw, assisted Lou and his brother with a 1031 Exchange utilizing Delaware Statutory Trusts on a property they originally inherited from their father.
Lou earned his Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) from the University of La Verne, his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California (MPA), and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Whittier College. He is also a recipient of a Professional Designation for Senior Managers in Government from Harvard University.
Dr. Moret has five grown children and resides in Los Angeles with his wife Kathy.
Retired Chula Vista, CA Police Officer
Valley has 40 years of working and living in an area of San Diego known as the South Bay. From 2004 to 2015, Valley served as both a Chula Vista Police Officer and as a Deputy Sheriff with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon retiring from his career of public service, Valley became one of the founding members of the South Bay Team at Pacific Coast Commercial. Valley is dedicated to being a local market expert and has formed lasting relationships with the City of Chula Vista, local business owners and the community.
Valley has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Southwestern Community College. Valley has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Arizona University and his Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego. Valley is the proud father of two daughters with his wife Sylvia and a recent cancer survivor.
